This exceptional achievement of the Ganesh Laddu in Sun City marked a significant increase from the previous year’s auction, which saw the laddu being sold for approximately ₹60.48 lakh. This annual tradition of auctioning the Ganesh laddu is part of the festivities organised by the residents of Richmond Villas.
As per the reports from Newstap, the proceeds generated from this grand auction are not merely for show but are dedicated to noble causes. The organisers have committed to channelling the funds towards various charitable endeavours. This philanthropic approach underscores the spirit of giving and community participation.
In 2021, this delectable sweet treat fetched an impressive ₹18.90 lakh. From its humble beginning in 1994, when it was auctioned for a mere ₹450, it was a huge rise. Winning the prized Laddu Prasad is believed to bestow good fortune upon the fortunate bidders.

This year’s Balapur Ganesh idol featured a unique design, depicting Lord Ganesha in a seated posture atop the five-headed Panchmukhi Nagendra, complete with animated eyes and ears. While the tradition of auctioning the Balapur Ganesh laddu had initially been limited to the 25 individuals who had successfully bid for it since 1994, this year saw the inclusion of five new participants, including non-locals who were eager to partake in the auction. As per the reports from Newstap, ultimately, the renowned Balapur Ganesh Laddu secured an impressive price tag of ₹27 lakh. It added to its reputation as a symbol of blessings for health, wealth, and prosperity.
