If you were looking for the perfect fried egg sandwich, save this easy recipe by Chef Saloni Kukreja. The recipe is quite simple and includes basic household ingredients. The chef took to her Instagram to share the recipe for the sandwich via a video. 

In her caption, the chef mentions how she first tried the “comforting” fried egg sandwich at Organic Spiti Cafe in Kaza, Himachal Pradesh. The chef even mentions how it was instantly “love at first sight” for her! And thanks to the chef’s rendition of the sandwich, you too can now create this tasty treat at home.

Recipe For The Perfect Sunday Breakfast

The ingredients for the sandwich are fairly easy to source. All you need are the items mentioned below: 


  • 1 Tablespoon Oil
  • 2 slices of bread of your choice 
  • Eggs (Obviously)
  • Cucumber
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter 
  • 3 Tablespoons Peanut Butter 
  • 2 Tablespoons  Mustard
  • 2 Tablespoons Mayonaise
  • Salt and Pepper

In just a few simple steps, you can have the perfect fried egg sandwich for your Sunday breakfast.  Follow the steps below to make the chef’s special treat.

  1. Toast your bread slices on both sides on medium heat in a pan. Use butter before or after toasting the bread, as per your preference.
  2. For the sauce, mix 3 tablespoons of peanut butter, 2 tablespoons of mustard and 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise along with some salt and pepper, for taste. This will give your sandwich that extra flavour it needs.
  3. Next, fry your eggs as per your liking. In Chef Saloni’s video, she has chosen to go with a half fry.
  4. Finally, put your sauce mixture on the bottom bread slice and add to it with your cucumber slices, fried egg and the top slice.
