Meghana Foods has fans, very loyal fans. This popular biriyani paradise is known to serve lip-smacking, spicy food and Andhra-style biryani. Their generous portions and value for money make this a mandatory stop for your biryani cravings. We’d highly recommend the Meghana Special Biryani and the Lemon Chicken.

2. Shivaji Military Hotel

One of the oldest military restaurants in Bengaluru that dates back all the way to 1935, Shivaji Military Hotel is no less than a pilgrimage spot for biryani lovers. Their Maratha food especially the Mutton Biryani served on palm leaves has crowds spilling on the roads. Among their Naati-style fare, the Chicken Chops and Paya Soup are delicious. Line up on Thursdays, for their Naati biryani.

Ambur is a tiny town that unassumingly sits between Bengaluru and Chennai. Its claim to fame is the biryani. First cooked in the royal kitchens of the Nawabs of Arcot, this biryani has a rich history. Infact, even Deepika Padukone revealed to Curly Tales that she loves Ambur biryani. With the meat and rice first cooked separately and then sealed in a dum, the flavours are invigorating. So, head to Ambur Star Biryani serving this iconic fare since 1890 to Bengalureans.

A personal favourite, Chicken Biryani and Hot and Spice Chicken (an appetizer) is is my go-to biryani order at Mani’s Dum Biryani. Trust Mani’s to serve deliciously spicy biryani cooked in Ambur style and pair it with crispy appetisers that pack a punch. Vegetarians, bear in mind that this restaurant is known to cook their biryanis separately so you can order without any unhesitatingly.

7. Gundappa Donne Biryani
