PCMC’s First Food Court Near Akurdi Railway Station
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation officials confirmed the news of their first food court. They further shared its location to be near Akurdi Railway Station. The reason behind this is that there are many government offices and educational institutes in the area. This will ensure a large number of customers. Further, it is convenient for people to have a place where they can access food. Besides food stalls, the place will have parking space, a toilet facility, toy stores, and many other things. The design of this new food court is similar to that of the one in Indore. It is called the ’56 Dukan pattern’.
Cost Of This Project
The initial project cost was ₹6 crore, as mentioned in the Civic Budget for the year 2022 – 2023. However, after the announcement of the tender, the authorities received seven bids. One of these offered a twenty-seven per cent lesser rate than the original tender and bagged the opportunity. Though the allotment is complete, the officials are waiting for the final approval for building the food court setup. They have assured that the food court will be complete within four to five months.
