What Is It?
This is a first for a coin with the denomination of 20 in the country. It will be two-toned and of 27 mm just like the 10 rupee coin.

The coin has been designed by the National School of Design. It will bear the Pillar of Ashoka undersigned as ‘Satyamev Jayate’ in Hindi as well as be inscribed with ‘Bharat’ and ‘India’ on both sides.
Moreover, new coins will be issued for all other denominations as well such as rupee 1, 2, 5 and 10 although old coins can also be used as legal tender. Plus, the new 10 rupee coin aids the visually impaired by enabling a 100 serrations on one side.
