The under-construction (partially operational) Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, connecting India’s national capital to its financial capital, will soon make the journey from Gurugram to Vadodara or vice-versa seamless. As per reports, the construction of the Kota tunnel on the Mumbai-Delhi Expressway is nearing completion and it will significantly reduce travel time for commuters. Scroll on to know more about this.
Gurugram To Vadodara In Just 10 Hours Soon!
According to a Times Now report, travel between Gurugram and Vadodara is about to get much faster, thanks to the almost-complete Kota tunnel on the Mumbai-Delhi Expressway. Reportedly, once the new tunnel in Rajasthan is completed, the journey time will drop from the current 20-22 hours to just 10-12 hours.
This tunnel passes through the Mukundara Tiger Reserve and is being built carefully to protect the wildlife. The authorities are proceeding with construction in such a way that ensures no disturbance to wild animals and poses no danger in the future either.
The Mumbai-Delhi Expressway is a 1,350 km long, 8-lane wide expressway that will connect important areas in Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra to Delhi. The project costs around ₹1 lakh crore and is built for vehicles to travel at speeds of up to 120 kmph.
More About This Stretch On Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
As per reports, the stretch between Gurugram to Vadodara on the Mumbai-Delhi Expressway will begin from Alipur village near Sohna, which is just outside Gurugram. It will also serve as the main entry point for vehicles coming from Delhi-NCR.
The expressway continues through Rajasthan and reaches Kota. It is to be noted that the Dausa to Kota stretch, right before the tunnel, is already completed. The under-construction tunnel in Kota, which cuts through hilly terrain and ensures smooth passage, then moves towards Vadodara, Gujarat. The Kota-Vadodara stretch, right after the tunnel, is also under construction.
