Are you an avocado toast lover? Or is no amount of avocado ever enough for you? Well, after seeing this, you just might have had enough. This family in Hawaii has grown the world’s heaviest avocado which is as big as a watermelon. No, we’re not saying this, the Guinness Book Of World Records is.

In 2018, the world’s heaviest avocado claimed its Guinness World Record. And recently, Guinness World Records shared a photo of the “chunky” avocado. On August 1, Guinness World Records shared the post, coinciding with Avocado Day in the US. 

The Pokini family, residing in Kahului, Hawaii, USA, set the record. The giant avocado weighs a staggering 2.55 kg, nearly equivalent to a watermelon,! Reported NDTV. The caption stated that the Pokini family applied for the record title when their avocado tree unexpectedly yielded large fruit. 

Mark, Juliane, and Loihi Pokini accomplished the record on December 14, 2018, and it remains unbeaten to this day. Their aim was to showcase Hawaii’s production of remarkable avocados.

As per a report by the Independent, the colossal fruit appeared on the family’s tree nearly ten years after planting. The entire Pokini family expressed their excitement upon winning the world record.

They celebrated by making guacamole for their friends and family using the Guinness title-winning fruit. The seed used to grow the fruit tree came from their in-laws on Oahu Island in Hawaii, reportedly.
