Aviation analytical company, Cirium, released a report on the top-performing airports. The report was divided into Global Airports, Small Airports, Large Airports and Medium Airports. Moreover, airports were ranked on several conditions. One of them was ‘on-time performance’. The company reviews airports where it has better coverage (or 80 per cent) of actual gate departure. A flight that departs the gate within 15 minutes of its scheduled gate departure time is said to be on time.

Each category’s top 20 airports are listed by Cirium. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) in Hyderabad was the only airport in the world to breach the 90 per cent on-time departure (OTD) barrier, albeit narrowly at 90.43 per cent. In March, 14,658 single-segment flights were planned from the airport, which serves 29 airlines and 77 itineraries.
