This has led to the government recalling the batches of contaminated ice cream and placing 1662 employees in quarantine.
Ice Cream In China Tests Positive For COVID-19
COVID-19 was discovered in ice cream manufactured by Tianjin Daqiaodao Food Company, in eastern China. Livehindustan reported that news of the first contamination came from the northern Tianjin municipality. The Daqiaodao Food Co., Ltd, near Beijing, was sealed. The government also revealed that its employees are being tested for coronavirus. The government also recalled the contaminated ice cream boxes and quarantined 1662 employees. Most of the 29,000 ice cream cartons in the batch weren’t sold yet. The manufacturing company destroyed 2089 boxes of ice cream. Livehindustan reports that 4836 boxes were contaminated.

Infected Person Might Have Contaminated The Ice Cream
The health authorities continue to trace customers who bought them and even asked them to submit their health details. According to The Independent ut of 1600 employees quarantined, the test results for 700 came negative. Authorities state that the coronavirus probably survived in the ice cream due to the cold temperature. They also believed that the virus reached the ice cream through an infected person. The government said that the ingredients in the ice cream included whey powder from Ukraine and milk powder from New Zealand.
