India Might Have 4-Day Work Week With Increase In PF Value Soon

As per reports, the central government is making some changes in the labour law which might be implemented as soon as next month. These new laws might come as a relief to a large number of employees in India. There have been reports of the implementation of a 4-day workweek in India. Apart from that, the Provident Fund value on the salary of employees might also increase.

Employees In India Might Enjoy Three-Day Weekends Soon

Reports say that the new labour laws in India might come into effect from July 1, 2022, though no official announcement has been released yet. As per the changes, the take-home salaries of employees will also change. There will be changes in the office working hours as well. Now, most companies give one of two weekoffs to their employees. With the implementation of the 4-day workweek, employees can enjoy three weekoffs.

Basic Salary Will Be 50% Of Gross Amount

Although the labour law has reduced the number of days, it is to be noted here that the working hours are not changing. Thus, in the four working days, the working hours might vary from 10 to 12 hours. Coming to the salary part, the new laws state that the basic salary will be 50% of the gross amount. The PF contribution from the gross salary will thus increase. The gratuity fund value will also see a hike.
