Air India Passenger Upset As 4-Year-Old Gets Separate Seat; Airline Explains The Reason

Airlines often make mistakes while allocating seats, which is especially problematic for parents with young children. After IndiGo’s adjacent seat issue went viral, now it’s Air India! A social media user complained about how the airline assigned seats separately, leaving a four-year-old to sit alone. Scroll down to know more!

Air India Traveller Complains About Seat Allocation

Taking to his X handle, Vikash Jha (@v4evervikash) complained about Air India’s seat allocation. Sharing photos of three tickets online, he wrote that his four-year-old child would have to sit alone because he didn’t pay extra for an adjacent seat. He urged the airline to include child seat pricing in the booking process, calling the action unacceptable and inhuman.

Responding to the post, Air India explained the reason behind the separate seats. The airline said it had no intention of separating children from parents. It revealed that, due to the user’s last-minute booking, no adjacent seats were available, so it had to assign the available ones. The airline also requested travellers to pre-book their desired seats and added that it had noted the user’s concern.

Netizens React To The Post

The post about Air India seat allocation has gone viral online, sparking reactions from netizens and past airline users. Many people shared their opinions in the comments section.

One user wrote, “Once the pre-booked seats were also assigned to someone else, we were offered separate seats in pre-economy under the name of an upgrade!”

Another user added, “Stop lying, Air India – you never allocate aisle or window seats for free. Say it upfront and loud, instead of covering it up with fancy words!” This comment shows how travellers didn’t believe Air India’s reason for not giving seats.

One netizen commented, “Your intention was only to earn some extra money! How cute!”
