Southern Railway wants to make train travel much easier for passengers by planning delivery services at select railway stations in Keralam. These kiosks would prove helpful for people who forget travel essentials while rushing out of their homes. Here’s how this system will work and what you need to know.
Delivery Kiosks At Keralam Railway Stations
Forgetting things like headphones or toiletries at home while travelling by train is something many of us have experienced. But Southern Railway is planning to eliminate this problem. According to The New Indian Express, the authorities are planning to introduce app-based delivery of daily essentials at select railway stations in Keralam.
Passengers will be able to place online orders and have their items delivered directly to them on the train or at designated kiosks at the stations. The initiative aims to expand on-demand delivery beyond food, which is already available at stations through Zomato and Swiggy.

Which Railway Stations Have Been Selected?
According to The New Indian Express, 10 railway stations in the Thiruvananthapuram division have been selected for this new initiative. These are Thiruvananthapuram Central, Kollam Junction, Kayamkulam Junction, Chengannur, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam Town, Ernakulam Junction, Aluva and Thrissur.
Under the Palakkad division, the selected railway stations are Kozhikode, Palakkad Junction, Kannur, Shoranur, Kasaragod, Thalassery, Tirur, Vadakara, Payyanur, Koyilandy and Ottapalam.
Kiosks would be set up at stations for sellers, but there would also be an option to deliver items to trains according to orders placed by passengers. The kiosks would also serve as delivery points for passengers who prefer to collect their orders before leaving the station. They could also place orders while on the train.
This new system at Keralam’s railway stations will make train travel so much easier for passengers. They could order essentials like toothpaste, toothbrush, face wash, and more without having to step out to find a shop.
