Mumbai Metro One Launches WhatsApp Based Passes
According to a report by Mid-Day, the initiative, promoted by Reliance Infrastructure, allows commuters to buy multi-trip passes or load money digitally for their journeys. The passes can also be added to Google Wallet and Apple Wallet, eliminating the need for a physical metro pass.

Passengers can choose between a Trip Pass and a Store Value Pass. The Trip Pass allows users to purchase a predefined number of journeys in advance. The trips remain valid until they are used, meaning commuters do not have to purchase individual tickets for every journey.
The Store Value Pass, meanwhile, allows users to load an amount of their choice. The applicable fare is automatically deducted from the balance after each journey, while the balance can be recharged digitally whenever required.
Both passes can be accessed through Google Wallet or Apple Wallet, making them easier to use during daily travel.
How To Buy The Digital Pass
The digital pass can be purchased through Mumbai Metro One’s existing WhatsApp ticketing service. Commuters need to send “Hi” to Mumbai Metro One on WhatsApp at 919670008889 and tap on “Book Now” to access the ticketing window.
They can then select the “Digital Pass” option, choose between the Trip Pass and Store Value Pass, and complete the payment using UPI, debit card or credit card. The pass is issued instantly.
The entire process can be completed on WhatsApp without downloading a separate app, creating a new account or visiting a ticket counter.
