Travelling to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar could soon become much more convenient, as the proposed 72.44-km Namo Bharat corridor connecting Ghaziabad and Jewar has entered the Detailed Project Report (DPR) stage. The project, being developed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), is intended to substantially improve regional connectivity across Delhi-NCR. Scroll down to know more.
Jewar-Ghaziabad RRTS Corridor To Cut Travel Time
According to NCRTC Managing Director Shalabh Goel, the high-speed route will start from Ghaziabad and pass through Noida, Greater Noida and YEIDA City before finishing at Noida International Airport. Built as the fourth Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor, the project is anticipated to cost around ₹20,640 crore.
The proposed route will consist of 12 stations: Ghaziabad, Ghaziabad South, Greater Noida West Sector IV, Greater Noida West Sector II, Knowledge Park V, Surajpur, Pari Chowk, Ecotech VI, Dankaur, YEIDA North Sector 18, YEIDA Central Sector 21 and Jewar Airport. Two depots are also scheduled at either end of the corridor to facilitate train operations.

Once in service, Namo Bharat trains will run at speeds of up to 180 kmph, which will cut the travel time between Ghaziabad and Jewar Airport to around 40-50 minutes. The route is expected to serve fast-growing residential, commercial and industrial regions while providing a seamless public transport option to the airport.
Key Facilities Of The Corridor
As per a report by The Times of India, the project will also offer multiple interchange amenities. Pari Chowk station will link up with the Noida Metro Aqua Line, while YEIDA Central Sector 21 will provide direct access to the upcoming Noida Film City. Travellers travelling from Delhi will be able to use the Delhi Metro Red Line to reach the Ghaziabad Namo Bharat station before continuing towards Jewar.
Goel also stated that another proposed Noida-Faridabad-Gurugram Namo Bharat corridor is currently in the DPR stage. Meanwhile, the Delhi-Panipat-Karnal and Delhi-SNB-Alwar highways are expected to receive approval from the Centre soon.
