Thane Metro Work Begins

As per a report by News18, the first phase of the Metro line is now underway, with authorities aiming to address the growing pressure on Thane Road. The initial stretch of the project is being developed along the Ghodbunder route, which is said to be one of the busiest stretches in Thane. Over the years, rapid urban expansion in areas like Ghodbunder, Old Thane and Wagle Estate has increased the traffic. The narrow roads and rising vehicle numbers have resulted in regular traffic jams, causing commuters to spend hours on their daily travel.

The line promises better connectivity between important residential and commercial hubs.

Dr Kashinath Ghanekar Theatre, Manpada, Dongripada, Vijay Nagari, Waghbil, and Patlipada.
