Jewar Residents To Get Free Toll-Free Travel At Yamuna Expressway
According to reports by Daily Pioneer, the decision addresses a long-standing demand from local residents and farmers who have raised concerns over having to pay toll charges while regularly using the expressway for local travel.
BJP MLA from Jewar, Dhirendra Singh, announced the development on Thursday, stating that the facility would be extended to eligible local residents following a prescribed verification and registration process. Residents will have to complete the registration at the designated office of the toll plaza manager before availing themselves of the toll-free facility.

As part of the verification process, eligible residents will be required to submit documents including proof of local residence, their Aadhaar card and the vehicle registration certificate. The move is expected to provide relief to people living in villages located along and around the expressway, particularly those who use the route frequently for commuting and other essential travel.
He also said the decision followed several rounds of discussions with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) and the management responsible for operating the expressway. During these discussions, the MLA highlighted the commuting difficulties faced by local residents and farmers, along with their contribution to the development of the region.
Yamuna Expressway Passes Through Jewar Region
The Yamuna Expressway is a major six-lane access-controlled highway connecting Greater Noida with Agra in Uttar Pradesh. Stretching for around 165 km, the expressway has significantly reduced travel time between the two cities and serves as an important road link for commuters, businesses and tourists. It also passes through the rapidly developing Jewar region, which has emerged as a major infrastructure and industrial hub in the state.
