Indian Railways To Run 6 Special Trains Between Mumbai & Mangalore For Ganesh Chaturthi

The auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi is just around the corner. The festival will begin on August 31, 2022, and the Visarjan will take place on September 9, 2022. Keeping the same in mind, Indian Railways have announced that they will run 6 additional Ganpati Special Trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Mangalore Junction to clear the extra rush of passengers during the festival. Central Railways had earlier announced the running of 212 Ganpati Specials and with the addition now, the total number of Ganpati Specials for 2022 will be 218. Update On The Special Trains By Central Railway

As per the updates of Central Railway, here are the details of the special trains that will run between Mumbai and Mangalore on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi.

01173 special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 20.50 hrs on August 24 and 31 and then on September 7(three services). It will arrive at Mangalore Junction at 17.05 hrs the next day.

01174 special will leave Mangalore Junction at 20.15 hrs on August 25.8.2022 and then on September 1 and 8(three services). It will arrive at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 17.30 hrs the next day.

Halts Include – Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Sawada, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilawade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon, Canacona, Karwar, Ankola, Gokarna Road, Kumta, Honnavar, Murudeshwar, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi, Mulki, Surathkal, Thokur

Composition – One First AC, Three AC-2 Tier, 15 AC-3 Tier, Two Generator vans, One Pantry car.

On August 22, Central Railway took to its official Twitter account to announce the additional 6 special trains that will run between Mumbai and Mangalore during Ganesh Chaturthi. Bookings for the special trains no. 01173 on special charges is already open at all computerized reservations centers. You can also visit IRCTC’s official website for the bookings.

Central Railway added that if passengers want to know the detailed timings at halts of this special train then they can visit http://www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in or download the NTES App.
Central Railway further advised the passengers to adhere to all Covid appropriate norms to maintain safety.
