India’s Visually Impaired Women’s Cricket Team Gets Heartwarming Shout Out On Vistara Flight

India’s first-ever visually impaired women’s cricket team hit a new milestone as they will fly to Birmingham to represent India at the ongoing International Blind Sports Federation World Games (ISBA World Games). This is a prestigious international multi-sport event which enables blind and partially-sighted athletes to take part in a number of sporting events. Recently. India’s visually impaired women’s cricket team received a heartwarming shout-out on a Vistara flight.

India’s Visually Impaired Women’s Cricket Team Get Grand Welcome On Vistara

According to information supplied, India’s first visually impaired women’s cricket team are on their way to Birmingham to take part in the ongoing international Blind Sports Federation World Games, scheduled from August 18 to August 27. The visually impaired men’s cricket team reached Birmingham on August 14. as blind cricket is all set to make its debut this year.

The team were flying on Vistara UK 852 flight from Bengaluru to Mumbai on August 17, 2023, when they received a heartwarming welcome from the crew. The team led by Ms. Sushma Patel from Madhya Pradesh were cheered on.

Crew & Passengers Onboard Cheer Them On!

In a video supplied by, the Vistara captain introduces passengers to the visually impaired women’s cricket team who were flying on the plane. The captain, states in his speech “Ladies and gentlemen, we have special guests onboard today – the Indian Women’s team of Cricket Association for the Blind In India. In just a few days, they will be representing the country in rhe International Blind Sports Federation World Games in Birmingham.”

The Captain further informed the passengers about the event which is the largest high-level international event for visually-challenged athletes. 1250 competitors from 70 countries will participate in this renowned event. And the Vistara crew asked passengers to applaud for them and wish India’s pride, all the best for the tournament.

Passengers and the crew are seen clapping their hands with pride for India. Later, the team, dressed in their Indian cricket jerseys, holding their boarding passes, pose with the Vistara crew for pictures.
