Jama Masjid In Lucknow Provides Free Of Cost Oxygen Cylinders To COVID-19 Patients

While India battles the mounting cases of COVID-19 it is the citizens of the country who are stepping up to help the affected families. Just when India’s healthcare system was on the verge of breaking, organisations such as the Khalsa Aid and many other NGOs started oxygen langar and provided free food and essentials to those in need. Mumbai’s Jain temple also converted into a vaccination centre to help more people get the jabs at the earliest. But out of all the places in the country, Lucknow is one of the worst-hit cities and the Jama Masjid in the Lalbagh has come forward to provide oxygen cylinders and concentrators to COVID-19 patients free of cost to both Muslims and non-Muslims.

The Mosque Reserved Cylinders For Both Muslims & Non-Muslims

With the hue and cry for oxygen cylinders in the city, the mosque committee took the decision to provide free oxygen concentrators and cylinders to those in need. Anyone in need of a cylinder irrespective of the religion can come to the mosque, produce his Aadhaar card and a few other identification documents and take an oxygen cylinder home free of cost.

People Can Donate Money To The Mosque For Purchasing The Equipment

In a world where even oxygen cylinders are being black-marketed at exorbitant rates, such religious places and organisations come as a huge sigh of relief for people who are gasping for breath. If needed, the mosque will help families with more oxygen cylinders. After contribution to people, the mosque currently has 50 oxygen cylinders and 25 concentrators left. Many other masjids is also offering free oxygen cylinders across the country.

Anyone wishing to donate money to the mosque is requested to pay the amount to the seller of the oxygen equipment and send the bill to the Masjid Committee via WhatsApp. Members of the committee then collect the equipment from the seller by showing the bill.
