An Indigo flight from Guwahati bound for Dibrugarh makes an emergency landing on 4 June 2023. After taking off from the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, the flight returns to the Guwahati airport shortly after a few minutes of taking off. This incident occurred with IndiGo flight 6E2652 on Sunday morning. It took off from Guwahati at about 8:40 AM and made the landing in just 20 minutes. Reports state that the reason behind the emergency landing is a technical glitch.

Rameswar Teli, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of India, and two Members of the Legislative Assembly; Prasanta Phukan and Terosh Gowala were on board the flight, according to a report by Northeast Now. The flight was carrying all these passengers to their destination, Dibrugarh and faced the issue mid-air. After the emergency landing, everyone deboarded the flight. Later, an engineering inspection was conducted to check the flight and the technical glitch.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, the officials of the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport shared the confirmation status of the IndiGo flight making its emergency landing. They did not state any further reasons for the sudden incident.

There Was No Specific Glitch While Taking Off From The Guwahati Airport

At around 8:40 AM on Sunday, the flight took off with all the passengers. During that moment, there were no problems that the pilots faced. But after about 20 minutes of the journey, the pilots reported a technical issue and they decided to make a return to Guwahati. As reported by Hindustan Times, Prasanta Phukan stated that the technical glitch in the flight forced the pilots to take the decision of making an emergency landing.

The airline has not made any response regarding the emergency landing. Also, there are no further updates about the landing.
