Travelling during the festive season is always special. However, this Durga Puja, Kolkata’s demand as a tourist destination has skyrocketed! After Durga Puja’s inclusion in the UNESCO list, a lot of tourists across the World have shown interest in coming to Kolkata. So much so that it has pushed Air Fare up, to the maximum. With most direct flights going full, the UNESCO tag certainly has stirred a lot of curiosity. Read on to know more tidbits from the Air fare surge story.

Details Of The Air fare Surge During Durga Puja In Kolkata

According to reports the minimal one-way fare from Bengaluru, Delhi, and Chennai is around Rs 15,000-Rs 17,000. From Mumbai within the run-up to Shashthi, it’s around Rs 17,000 whereas from Pune it’s around Rs 18,000.

Journey Agent Joydeep Mukherjee reveals, “The minimal fare to Kolkata from different metros is 2 instances what was once the utmost on the sector. With the cap on fares imposed through the pandemic, not in place, the utmost fare goes by the roof.”

The Surge In Air Fare Is For Both Incoming And Outgoing Travellers

Explaining the situation, Journey Brokers’ Affiliation of India chairman (east) Manav Soni says that this Puja, there’s a surge in air fares for incoming and outgoing travellers from Kolkata and the remainder of jap India.

“That is primarily due to the massive demand generated by the Unesco tag and bottling of obtainable stock, along with the scholar site visitors. This demand has caught us unprepared,” adds Mr Soni.

Meanwhile, in the Delhi-Kolkata sector, the minimum fares are around Rs 14,000-Rs 15,000. The minimum fare on flights to town from Bengaluru is around Rs 16,700 and around Rs 16,000 from Chennai.
