1. Lal Mandir, Delhi

Shri Digambar Jain Lal Mandir is located opposite to the iconic Red Fort in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk. It is one of the oldest Jain temples in Delhi. With striking architecture, this red sandstone temple dates back to the 17th century, during the Mughal era. It stands tall with its beautiful carvings, and a bird hospital within the shrine’s complex.

2. Ranakpur Jain Temple, Rajasthan

 

Located amid the massive Aravalli range, the Ranakpur Jain Temple is a short distance from the main cities of Jaipur and Jodhpur. Constructed approximately between the 14 and 15 century, this Jain temple is a marvel to behold. The architecture of the temple, and its aura is a unique combination that a few places truly provide to its visitors.

Make sure, you do not miss this marvel of a temple when in Rajasthan. You can reach the temple by road or by air. The nearest airport to the temple is the Udaipur airport.

3. Girnar Jain Temples, Gujarat

One of the most popular and oldest Jain Temples in the world, the Girnar Jain Temple is a must visit when in Gujarat. It is a group of monumental shrines with carvings depicting Jain deities. The temple along with its imposing architecture,  provides an alluring view to its visitors.

You can reach Mount Girnar from Junagadh with a taxi or take a hike to the temple. Palkis are also readily available for visitors who do not wish to trek all the way up.

4. Gomateshwara Temple, Karnataka

The Gomateshwara Temple is another historic place for Jains, situated in Karnataka’s Shravanabelagola. A massive statue of  (57 feet high and 26 feet wide) stands inside the temple’s premises which is anointed every 12 years. The ritual is called, Mahamastakabhisheka, a glorious event which is attended by tourists and travelers from around the world.
