Maharashtra is a beautiful state featuring tons of tourist attractions in every nook and corner. There are a plethora of experiences to enjoy and magic to witness in this state. From serene beaches to picturesque hill stations, from historical forts to green wildlife sanctuaries, Maharashtra has a lot to offer to tourists. In fact, the state came out with something very fun and exciting for the visitors and all of these are must-visit.

According to the state budget for 2021, Maharashtra comes up with new plans to boost the tourism sector with some changes, some additions, and a huge facelift. The allotted budget for these offerings is a massive amount of ₹2,369 crores. The exciting offerings waiting for the tourists to explore are new hill stations, a new cruise terminal, preservation of temples, museums, sea forts, and a lot more.

Conservation Of Temples

Temples are a major part of the tourism sector in Maharashtra. Infinite pilgrims travel here every year to seek blessings from the deities. And to improve this sector, 8 temples in the state are taken on for conservation and preservation.

A New Cruise Terminal

As per reports, the finance minister announced a new cruise terminal at Bhagwati port in the Ratnagiri district. This cruise terminal will also develop a hill station in Jawhar in the Palghar district. This will be a great way to boost eco-tourism in Maharashtra. Also, there will be the development of jetty in the Raigad district.

Hill Stations To Be Developed

The state will also work on the development of Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani, and Lonar lake as well. These famous tourist destinations will get a great facelift. The plan is ready and the required funds are accessible too.

Museums Are An Important Part Of This Plan

The budget also proposed plans to take museums to the forefront showing the history of Maharashtra worth a great budget of ₹161 crores. Also, Pune is the home to a sugar museum with a budget of ₹40 crores. Worli will have a state-of-the-art tourist complex built on an international level. The land to construct the complex is 14 acres.

Development In Ratnagiri And Sindhudurg

As part of ‘Sindhuratna Samruddha’, beaches and sea forts are in consideration as well. ₹100 crores will be allotted once every year to develop the tourism sector in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg. Another plan is to construct the Bal Thackeray memorial given a budget of 400 crores.
