If you think instant noodles are often the caught between food trends, then wait till you know taht the humble idli is no different. From a Nagpur eatery preparing black detox idlis to an idli vada pav taking over the internet, idlis have a got a new spin. Adding to the list of idli food trends is a special Indo Chinese creation by none other than celebrity Chef Ranveer Brar. Forget normal idlis, when you can prepare the chef’s special Chilli Idlis.

Chef Ranveer Brar’s Chilli Idli Leaves Foodies Drooling

There’s Gobi Chilli, Paneer Chilli and Mushroom Chilli, then why not Chilli idlis? Chef Ranveer Brar posted a video on Instagram, giving foodies the recipe and method to cook his Indo Chinese creation, Chilli Idlis. With a preparation time of just 15 minutes and a cooking time of fewer than 25 minutes, this is a quick, hassle-free dish. To prepare chilli idlis, the chef, fries idlis ( dipped in a batter of corn starch, flour and vinegar) and keeps it aside. Next, he sautees ginger, garlic, green chilli and capsicums in a hot kadai.

Next, he caramelises soy sauce, tomato ketchup, red chilli sauce to create the Indo Chinese sauce. Finally, he adds the fried idlis to the mixture and garnishes it with spring onion. Voila! Your Chilli Idlis are ready. Enjoy it piping hot with a glass of refreshing beverage and you’re good to go.
