According to a MSRTC representative, just the outer fibre piece of the bus’ roof, which is located above the driver’s cabin and was broken, fluttered in the air while the bus was travelling along the Gadchiroli-Aheri road.

According to the official, the interior layer of the bus’s roof as well as the exterior aluminium piece of the roof above the passengers’ cabin were both intact.

With more than 15,000 buses in its fleet, the MSRTC is one of the largest public transportation providers in the nation. Every day, it ferries about 60 lakh people.

An MSRTC union head asserted that numerous passengers had problems as a result of leaking buses and that the state transportation system’s buses are in terrible condition as a result of insufficient maintenance, particularly in the wake of the epidemic.
