India has a rich culture of music, and to celebrate it with Millennials and Gen Z, Mumbai is hosting the Mahindra Roots Festival. This three-day festival is a blend of different genres of music. Organised in the heart of Mumbai, this three-day music fest will offer you everything from folk to contemporary. Moreover, you will get a taste of soothing Indian music like Sufi, Abhangas, Baul and tribal music. On the 24th of February, the opening night, there will be an enthralling blend of storytelling and music in ‘Weaving Voices,’ directed by Roysten Abel.

On the second day, i.e. 25th of February, you will experience beautiful Marathi abhangas in a new musical form by Abhanga Repost, a folk-fusion band. Moreover, Shabnam Virmani will greet you with a blend of Kabir’s poetry and her soulful performance. Arko Mukherjee, an urban folk artist, will thrill you with his fusion of traditional and modern music styles. Tajdar Junaid is known for his transcending fusion of ethnic roots and contemporary bars.

Last Day Of This Mystical Music Fest

The third day of this festival is dedicated to the celebration of love with The Aahvaan Project presenting love in today’s era in musical storytelling. Raghu Dixit with his band ‘The Raghu Dixit Project’ with members Raju Das Baul and Shilpa Mudbi, will treat you to soulful South Indian folk music. Also, Jasleen Aulakh will grasp your attention with her lively performance. And Alif will introduce you to Urdu and Kashmiri music with his music and poetry.
