Bangaloreans, if you’ve visiting Mysuru during the weekends, you’d know that it takes around 3 long hours. Well, not anymore. A new Bangalore-Mysore highway will cut down travel time to just 90 minutes between the two cities in Karnataka. The best part is that this highway will be completed by October 2022. Here’s everything to know about this highway.

Bangalore-Mysore Highway To Cut Down Travel Time From 3 Hours To 90 Minutes

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari revealed that the ambitious Bangalore-Mysore Economic Corridor will undergo completion by October 2022. This will be a 10-lane highway that will connect the two significant cities in the state and reduce travel time from 3 hours to just 90 minutes. The News Minute report reveals that according to Prasar Bharati, the 117km highway will be divided into 2 packages. The first package is the construction of the road from Bangalore to Nidagatta. The second will be from Nidagatta to Mysore.

This Highway Will Be Developed To Meet World-Class Standards

Moreover, the upcoming Bangalore-Mysore Economic corridor will also consist of bypass roads for areas that fall between the two cities like the wooden toy hub, Channapatna, Sholay location Ramanagara, Srirangapatna, Maddur, Mandya and Bidadi. There will be 6-lane access controlled carriageway for traffic and a two-lane service road for local traffic. Deputy CM Govind Karjol earlier revealed to the Star of Mysore that the new Bangalore-Mysore road will be developed to meet world-class standards.
