No School Buses Will Be Allowed On Roads After 8:30 am. Will That Ease Bengaluru’s Infamous Traffic?

Bengaluru, the IT capital of India or the Silicon Valley of India, is also known as the traffic capital of India. Bengaluru is known for its traffic. You must have come across many viral videos on the internet that showcase how bad the city’s traffic is. The traffic police department of Bengaluru has come up with various initiatives to ease the traffic. The recent initiative is to ban school buses after 8:30 am.

School Buses Banned After 8:30 In The Morning

Bengaluru’s traffic police department has come up with an initiative to ease the congestion on the roads. The department has decided to ban school buses from running on the roads or being parked after 8:30 in the morning. The time is specified because 8:30 is the beginning of peak hour, when office-going traffic hits the road.

The newly appointed traffic commissioner of Bengaluru, IPS officer M.A. Saleem, has enforced this new rule. According to it, officers will impose fines on all the buses that will be parked outside or near the school after dropping off the kids after 8:15 am. No school bus will be allowed to park near the school, and if parked, the driver will pay a penalty.

Parents Too Will Have To Follow Certain Rules

They have also informed the school management about the same and asked them to start their classes early. There will also be a “safe passageway” or “dedicated carriageway” for all the students to reach their school. Not only students, but also parents, will be required to adhere to a predetermined entry and exit point.

They can bring their kid from the entry point in their vehicle, leave them at the playground, and proceed towards the exit point. This will prevent parents from gathering in front of the school’s main gate. During peak hours, school buses outside of school grounds or personal vehicles driven by parents cause major chaos and traffic.
