Oman Is Welcoming Fully Vaccinated Travellers From India; Here Are All The Rules

Fully vaccinated travellers from India can now travel to Oman. The Middle East country will lift its travel ban on fully vaccinated Indian travellers and those from 20 countries that earlier featured on the Red List. The updated travel rule will come into effect from September 1. Oman has reopened its borders for fully vaccinated travellers from countries like Indonesia, Libya, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Nigeria, Sudan, Singapore, Colombia, Ethiopia, Brazil, Argentina, Tanzania, Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, Philippines and Tunisia. If you plan to travel to Oman from India, here’s what you must know.

Who Can Travel To Oman From India?

Oman currently approves Covishield, not Covaxin. Everyone is considered fully vaccinated, 14 days after their second dose. Only Omani citizens, visa holders of Oman,m residents of Oman, people who don’t need a visa to visit Oman or who can get a visa on arrival are permitted to enter the Sultanate. Travellers from India must apply for a visa before flying to the country. Visa on arrival is not available for travellers from India.

Covid-19 Protocols To Travel To Oman

  • A negative COVID-19 PCR test result with a QR code is mandatory when arriving in Oman. This indicates the person is fully vaccinated with a vaccine that’s approved in Oman.
  • People arriving in Oman without a Covid-19 negative test result must undertake a PCR test upon arrival at the airport, wear an electronic tracking bracelet and adhere to all quarantine rules until they get a negative report.
  • People who test positive on arrival in Oman must undergo 10 days of quarantine
  • Passengers arriving in Oman on international flights spanning over 8 hours with a pre-travel negative PCR test taken 96 hours earlier, will be exempted from quarantine. The same applies to those arriving on short-duration flights with a negative Covid test result.
  • Pre-register on the Tarassud+ app before boarding the flight. Upload your negative Covid19 test results and vaccination certificate.
  • If you’ve recovered from Covid-19 and test positive on arrival, you’ll be exempt from the health isolation if you submit proof of complete isolation in the country you were infected before visiting Oman.
  • Children below 18 years of age don’t need to take tests or get vaccinated.
