Open & Shut! Restaurant in Matunga Shut Down Soon After Opening And Being Popular; Here’s Why

Restaurants are booming these days. A number of restaurants are being established these days as people’s love for food has increased and so has the practice of eating out. A restaurant in Matunga recently opened up which gained popularity quite quickly. However, it had to shut down because it was operating under conditions that didn’t meet the official quality standards. Radha Krishna Pure Vegetarian Restaurant which is located in Matunga was recently shut.

Matunga Restaurant Closes Shortly After Opening

This restaurant located at Bhaudaji Road in Matunga, Radha Krishna, was shut down shortly after it opened. The reason for that, according to an article published by the Free Press Journal, is that it was operating in a building that was still under construction.

The restaurant had set up a net so as to protect the patrons from falling material. Since the restaurant had gained considerable popularity, many people frequented it. However, a net was not deemed as an adequate safety measure.

Sandeep Deshpande, a corporator from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena or the MNS filed a complaint against the restaurant for operating under unsafe conditions. This particular restaurant

Functioned In An Under-Construction Building

According to the article, the restaurant did not have sufficient permission from the Health Department to operate under such conditions, however, the restaurant was nevertheless operational. Radha Krishna is not the only restaurant functioning in the building.

It has also been revealed that one other restaurant as well as a chat corner is also operational. According to what the Health Officer Dr. Rahul Salunke from the Heath Department revealed to the FPJ, the licence of the hotel was still being processed. The building, which is located in the F ward, is still under construction.

After Deshpande filed a complaint against the restaurant, it was shut down. Even though the restaurant opened a short while ago, it had gained significant popularity. People loved the food served there and it attracted huge crowds even though the place was quite new.
