Trooping the Colour marks the official celebration of the Sovereign. About 1400 troops, 200 horses, and 400 musicians from the Household Division celebrated the official birthday of King Charles III on 17 June 2023 with pomp and glory. For the Monarch’s birthday celebrations, more than 40 Indian-origin individuals have been invited. On Friday, the United Kingdom released the Birthday Honours List with 1,171 recipients on behalf of the King. Interested to know which guests are invited to this royal affair? The official Twitter account of The Royal Family (@RoyalFamily) has shared pictures of the royal celebration of the King and members of the Royal Family celebrating his first official birthday. This was His Majesty’s first time celebrating the gala event as a King.

Back in the year 1953, he attended his first-ever Trooping the Colour.

Ministry of Defence 🇬🇧 (@DefenceHQ) shared some stunning snippets of horses, troops, and musicians adding glory to the event. They celebrated such a significant royal day with the utmost royalty and splendour. Over 70 aircraft flying over Buckingham Palace and closing all the celebrations of the day looked absolutely remarkable.

Who Are Invited For This Royal Special Occasion?

More than 40 India-origin individuals got the glorious invitation for King Charles III’s birthday. From eminent business leaders to professors to community leaders, the Birthday Honours List features the names of individuals who have significant contributions in their respective fields. There is a committee of independent experts who review the nominations for this honourable list twice a year. Later, a main committee takes a look at the nominations and selects the final names to add to the list, according to a report by LiveMint. And then, after receiving approval from the British Prime Minister, these honours are awarded in the name of the Monarch.

  • Dr Parvinder Kaur Aley (the Director of Global Operations at the Oxford Vaccine Group) receives the Officer of the Order of the British Empire honour.
  • Professor Prokar Dasgupta (the Foundation Professor of Surgery, King’s Health Partners and Chair in Robotic Surgery and Urological Innovation at King’s College London) receives the Officer of the Order of the British Empire honour.
  • Anuj Chande (Partner and Head of South Asia Business Group at Grant Thornton UK LLP) receives the Officer of the Order of the British Empire honour.
  • Hina Solanki (Founder of Sol Cosmedics) receives the British Empire (MBE) honour.

It is an absolute honour for all the individuals who are getting these honours for their remarkable contributions.
