Pulwama In Kashmir Gets First Milk ATM With 500 Litre Capacity To Help Community

Did you know that Kashmir’s Pulwama is one of the leading milk-producing districts in the country? The district supplies milk to most of Jammu and Kashmir, putting milk production in Pulwama at 31 crore litres a year. Pulwama produces roughly 8.5 lakh litres of milk a day and is home to over 40 milk collection centres. This is how the district earned the moniker ‘Anand of Kashmir’. Kashmir’s leading milk-producing district now got its first milk ATM to hold varying amounts of milk to ensure that there is no shortage of milk in the town.

The Vending Machine Can Store 500 Litres Of Milk

Milk ATMs have a refrigeration system and a dispenser and a fully automated milk-procuring process that can store up to 500 litres of milk. The machine has been installed near Shaheed Park of the main town, by a local supplier in collaboration with the government. People can now get pure milk from the vending machine

The Milk Can Remain Fresh In The Vending Machine For 3 Days

There is a bulk milk cooler attached to the ATM which will keep the 500 litres of milk cook at 4 degrees Celsius. With all the high-tech systems in the vending machine, the milk can remain fresh for three days. According to reports Animal Husbandry Official added that “Since Pulwama is the leading district in milk production in the valley so we were looking for having better facilities in the town and with the installation of milk ATM.”

The Animal Husbandry department who assisted in installing the ATM plans to install more such ATMs in other towns.
