Rain-Affected Japan Train Services Sanyo Shinkansen & Tokaido Shinkansen Resume Now

The weather conditions in Japan were not pleasant in the last couple of days. Due to the heavy rainfall in several places, the regular train services got disrupted for 2 days. Japan is known for its discipline and on-time train facilities. But poor weather conditions led to the halt of trains by Japan Railways. The services have finally resumed on 16 August but it might come to a halt yet again if it starts pouring badly again.

Sanyo Shinkansen operates between Hakata and Shin-Osaka. Tokaido Shinkansen operates between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka. And both these trains had to pause their journeys because of heavy rainfall. After getting affected from 13 August to 16 August, the trains finally began running properly without any disruptions from Wednesday afternoon. Sanyo Shinkansen began its services between Hakata and Shin-Osaka, according to a report by TimeOut.

On the other hand, the railway authorities suspended train services of the Tokaido Shinkansen today morning. But now, the train travelling between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka resumed its services just some time back. Most of the train services resumed their operations on Wednesday afternoon.

Stations Were Crowded With Commuters

The disruptions and halt of regular train services in different parts of Japan turned out to be a major problem for passengers. Many stations were seen crowded on Wednesday due to the train halts. Several trains were completely cancelled from running and providing services on Tuesday. Bullet trains were suspended as well due to the heavy rainfall and poor weather conditions.

Typhoon at such an unexpected time is certainly becoming a major problem. The poor weather and extreme downpour are not only interfering with regular trains, but the bullet trains are also seeing changes in their schedules.

The trains began resuming their services now and commuters are travelling to places according to the scheduled time. But these trains once again might get suspended if the weather changes and creates problems for transportation.
