Being the President of the largest democracy in the world has its perks. One of these perks is having multiple holiday homes scattered throughout the country. There are multiple presidential retreats that weren’t open to the public before. However, in the past couple of weeks, this has changed. In keeping with such change is this latest development. The Rashtrapati Niwas in Shimla will soon be open to the public and you will be able to visit it.
Rashtrapati Niwas In Shimla To Open To Public Soon
In a recent meeting held in the Rashtrapati Niwas, it was revealed to the public that the president’s holiday abode will soon be opening for public visits. The meeting was chaired by the additional secretary to the President, Dr. Rakesh Gupta.
In addition to this announcement, it was also revealed that the opening of the house, which is 173 years old and is a heritage building, will be done by the President herself. Shrimati Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the reopening of her Summer Retreat during her scheduled visit on the 23rd of April.
Those who want to visit the President’s Holiday Retreat and see what it’s like from the inside can do so at the cost of ₹50. It is important to note that this price is only for Indian nationals. If any foreign national wants to see the President’s retreat, they will have to pay ₹250.

Latest After Hyderabad & New Delhi Presidential Estates
This is the latest Presidential estate that has been thrown open to the public in the past couple of weeks. The Presidential estate in Hyderabad, Rashtrapati Nilayam, and the President’s house in New Delhi have also been thrown open to the public.
The Rashtrapati Niwas in Shimla will be open to visitors on all days except government holidays and Mondays. Visitors can stroll through the presidential gardens which are known for their lush greenery and curated flower beds.
They are also free to visit the main building, official dining hall, and other spaces. They can also see the artefacts placed inside. People planning on visiting the Presidential retreat can also book their visit online on the official government website.
