Besides being blessed with scenic beauty, the valley is home to millions of tulips. Spread across 30 hectares, this place is the largest tulip garden in Asia. The District Administration of Srinagar has tweeted a beautiful video that features beautiful tulips blooming across the garden. In addition to it, there are several images of the garden where you can spot different varieties of flowers.
According to the tweet, the number of tulips that bloomed this year is 1.6 million. In addition to sixty-eight varieties of tulips, the garden is home to twelve varieties of Daffodils and ten varieties of Hyacinths.
The tweet further stated that there are facilities like wheelchairs for specially-abled persons. The garden has provisions for feeding rooms and restrooms and is more inclusive for senior citizens. The Netizens are in awe of the images and can’t wait to take a close look at them.
Importance Of This Garden
The garden was initially a floriculture centre and was converted into a tulip garden. It is formed in a terraced fashion and has seven terraces with a beautiful overview of Dal Lake. The garden timings are from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and the entry ticket for each person costs ₹50. In fact, to showcase this beautiful scenario, the government organises the Tulip festival, an annual Spring festival, in April.
The festival highlights standard tulips, double bloom, parrot tulips, fringed tulips, bi-colour standard tulips, Rembrandt, Fosteriana tulips, lily-flowering, single late, triumph and other varieties of tulips. And this year, more green space is included for the comfort of tourists. Moreover, the visitors will be able to buy souvenirs in addition to relishing Kashmiri cuisine.
The place is undoubtedly one of the prime attractions of the Kashmir Valley!
