Robotic Arm Cooks Better French Fries & Onion Rings Than Humans. Are You Curious?

We have always heard of Robots doing a better job at being human than humans right? Well, now they are even excelling at cooking. Yes, you heard it right! Miso Robotics Inc in Pasadena, California, has given the food market its Flippy 2 robot, which automates the process of deep frying potatoes, onions, along with other food items. The robotic arm takes frozen French fries, onion rings, and other items from a freezer, dips them into hot oil, and once ready, deposits them on a tray. Read on to know more about this exciting piece of technology from Miso Robotics.

The Robotic Arm Flippy 2 Can Cook Varied Meals With Different Recipes Simultaneously

Cooking robots by Miso Robotics are a boon for society as they lessen the baggage of those working in the food and catering area by tenfold. Robotic arm Flippy 2 can cook varied meals with different recipes simultaneously. This reduces the need for catering staff and speeds up order delivery at drive-through windows.
In a recent interview with Reuters, Chief Executive Mike Bell revealed that till now, three companies have Flippy 2. However, they haven’t advertised it due to fear of hurting sentiments that robots are taking away their jobs. Well, we feel this robotic arm will actually make restaurants safer, easier and friendlier. Take a look at the video to understand it better:

‘Robo Arm’ Flippy 2 Took 5 Years To Develop, Says Miso Robotics

According to Miso Robotics, it took 5 years to make the robotic arm Flippy 2 fully functional. It’s only recently that they made it commercially available.
The inspiration for the robot’s name comes from Flippy, a robot designed earlier to flip burgers. After Flippy 2 was fully developed, Miso Team realised the need for a helping hand at the fry station, mostly at night.
Miso engineers can keep an eye on the work of the Flippy 2 robots in real-time on a big screen. This enables them to help troubleshoot any problems that crop up.
