The entire nation is busy celebrating what is probably the biggest festival in India, Diwali. This festival of lights witnesses some of the biggest celebrations each year. Even the Indian diaspora across the world likes to celebrate this festival with pomp and splendour! Recently, Eric Garcetti, who is the US Ambassador to India, shared a video of him celebrating Diwali. Here is everything that you need to know about this particular wholesome news!

The US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, was recently spotted celebrating Diwali with full joviality. In a video shared by the US Embassy of India on X (formerly known as Twitter), he was seen in Indian attire celebrating Diwali with food, music and dance! He even relished many Along with Eric Garcetti, many in the US Embassy Community were also seen partaking in the festivities.

Perhaps one of the best parts about the ceremony was that Eric Garcetti danced to the iconic song “Chhaiyya Chhaiya.” Many people were very appreciative of how jovially everybody took part in the festivities. And of course, no celebration is complete without food! We spied some delicious samosas and sandwiches. There even was green chutney served along with them!

The video of Garcetti dancing was shared by Satnam Singh Sandhu, who is the chancellor of Chandigarh University. The Chancellor lauded the spirit with which Garcetti participated in the festival. The US Ambassador wrote in a post that he was delighted to celebrate the festival of Diwali with amazing food and great music.
He even offered a little prayer and said that he hoped that the new year would bring with it prosperity and happiness for all. Garcetti even thanked the Embassy for making his life full of light. He definitely seemed to have enjoyed himself!

He Even Celebrated Durga Puja!

This is not the first Indian festival that the US Ambassador Eric Garcetti has celebrated with enthusiasm. He recently also celebrated Durga Puja and visited a Durga Pandal. The Ambassador paid respects to Maa Durga and got a tilak on his forehead. He then proceeded to relish some of the most lip-smacking Bengali dishes that were at the celebration.
We saw him relishing a small paper bag of mouthwatering Jhal Muri. He even relished a plate heaped with Kolkata-style Biryani and then proceeded to try some Puri and Fish dishes. He even danced a bit with the dancers and interacted with the adorable children who were performing at the event. It seemed that he had a lot of fun at the Durga Puja Pandal.
