Hustle culture, hectic jobs and the economic burden are some of the reasons for increasing stress among young people. This has resulted in an increase in heart attacks at an early age. According to scientists, this can be related to improper breakfast, which most of us tend to skip. Here’s how having nuts for breakfast can reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes and other cardiovascular diseases.

Breakfast has historically been the most significant meal of the day, and depending on what you eat, scientists have discovered that it may lower your risk of heart attacks and strokes. According to a scientific study on popular plant-based diets, replacing an egg with a handful of nuts can lower the risk of cardiovascular disease by as much as 17%.

According to an analysis that was published in the journal BMC Medicine, if you replace one egg a day with 25 to 28 grams of nuts, you could reduce your risk of heart disease by 17%, diabetes by 18%, and early death by 15%. It did not, however, conclude that you should completely cut out eggs from your diet.

Although some specialists have long cautioned that eggs are dangerous for your heart, others argue that more research is necessary, therefore the issue is still up for dispute. One of the leading causes of death in the UK for a long time has been heart disease; according to the British Heart Foundation, 48,000 people die from heart or circulatory illness annually, or 460 people each day.

According to data released by the German Centre for Diabetes Research, there is no proof that replacing dairy with plant-based alternatives will reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease or that eating less fish and shellfish can be beneficial.

However, replacing it with nuts is associated with a negligible decrease in the chance of dying young. Individuals who swapped out 50 grams of processed meat, or the equivalent of a sausage, for the same quantity of beans, lentils, chickpeas or lentils had a 23% lower chance of passing away from heart disease.

If they substituted the processed meat with 28 to 50 grams of nuts, the risk was much lower, at 27%. Many people start their days with an egg or fry-up for breakfast, but the results of this analysis suggest it could be better to replace these items with plant-based foods, as Dr Sabrina Schlesinger, a co-author of the paper. While there wasn’t much evidence to support substituting dairy, there is evidence that people could benefit from eating more plant-based foods in place of poultry.

An observational study conducted in 2018 found that those who eat breakfast frequently also tend to be more mindful of their overall nutrient consumption, engage in regular physical activity, and effectively manage stress. On the other hand, people who miss breakfast are more likely to engage in unhealthy lifestyle choices like heavy drinking and smoking.
