Rajasthan Has Turned Into A Winter Wonderland & We Are Really Confused

Remember that time when it snowed in Rajasthan? Yeah, us neither but apparently Nagaur in Rajasthan is currently a winter wonderland with hailstones and snow everywhere. Yes, I know it’s hard to believe but the desert state is being compared to Kashmir after it received the hail storm of the decade. So, the next time you feel too hot, you might just consider skipping the hill stations and heading to Rajasthan instead. Here’s all you need to know about what’s happening in Nagaur.

Rajasthan Receives Hailstorm Which Has Turned Everything White

Global warming is truly showing its colours now with the desert state of Rajasthan getting a hail storm so bad that the entire place has turned white. Nagaur, a small place that is located between the towns of Jodhpur and Bikaner had a pretty weird day. The weather took a turn for the worse and it rained so hard that the water droplets turned into hailstones. And then, it went on for so long that Nagaur basically turned into the Kashmir valley. Roads and fields were lined with hailstones which are still pretty intact and have turned everything icy. Needless to say, the residents of Nagaur were more than surprised when they woke up to a bed of snow outside their homes.

Although this is something that we don’t get to see on a daily basis, it is most definitely a cause of concern. Rajasthan, which is one of the hottest states in the country should geographically not be getting any hail at all (duh!). Because of the sudden change in weather, this has also affected the plant cycles which is bound to lead to crop failure. In a country that is struggling with the rising rate of onions in the market, snow in Rajasthan is the last thing we need.

With this new development, the northern part of India is facing quite a bit of trouble and even the regional meteorological department has issued a red alert in the higher altitude regions of Uttarakhand. Stay safe out there, people!
