Amazing news for everyone planning to travel to Uttarakhand in the upcoming future. The news is that a new railway line is being constructed between Rishikesh and Karnaprayag that will cut down the travel time by half, to as less as three hours. With this new train line, it will get much easier to travel between these two hilly cities with better connection and of course, in as fewer time as possible. This New Rail Line At Rishikesh Will Soon Reduce Travel Time To Karnaprayag

This project of railway line construction is being carried out smoothly. And to bring this strategic plan into action, more than 7,000 workers are working on this 125 km railway line development. The journey of 6 hours will be covered in just 3 hours connecting so many well-known towns of Uttarakhand. To join Rishikesh and Karnaprayag by this train line, the project is costing a huge budget of ₹16,200 crores.

All You Need To Know About This Train Line Between These Two Hilly Cities:

  • This 125 km line will feature 17 tunnels to connect Rishikesh and Karnaprayag.
  • In this 125 km, almost 100 km will fall under these newly constructed tunnels.
  • For this tunneling area, there will be 12 newly built stations as well.
  • With these stations and tunnels, there will be bridges too. These bridges across River Alaknanda and River Ganga will make it easier for tourists to visit the pilgrimage and temples.
  • Towns that are getting with this line are Devprayag, Gauchar, Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag, and Srinagar.
  • The line is connecting these above-mentioned places through some districts of the popular hill station Dehradun such as Chamoli, Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, and Tehri Garhwal.
  • For developing the tunnels, many pieces of equipment and machines from Europe are transported here.

Rishikesh and Karnaprayag are two of Uttarakhand’s most popular pilgrim destinations.
