What’s It?

Dubai’s Souk Al Madinat is known to be a historic place that brings alive the country’s art and architecture. Well, now along with soaking in the country’s rich culture, this touristy destination also lets you pet animals. Sounds like fun?

Souk Madinat is now home to a huge petting zoo, where you can touch and feel your furry friends. The Central Courtyard will transform into a mini zoo over weekends, where kids can de-stress and learn more about animals.

The zoo will be home to rabbits, an iguana, parrots, guinea pigs, ducks, the South American chinchillas, tortoises, white rats, hedgehogs, budgies, and goats. And that’s not all! You can also spot the largest living snake- the python creeping its way in this zoo.

The authorities have also arranged for a shady play area, so the animals are safeguarded from the harsh weather. The petting zoo will be open on 19 and 20 April and entry is absolutely FREE for all.

Visitors are eligible for two hours of free parking at Souk Madinat, so you’ll have all the time to soak in the history, hang out at the new zoo and grab a bite at the lip-smacking cafes and restaurants.

What Else?

Madinat Jumeirah will soon have a brand new look. The Arabian inspired shopping and leisure destination will soon get a makeover, in order to give the customers a better experience. The renovation plan includes touching up the 15-year old property’s interiors, and the main entrance, allotting a dedicated stand for taxis, and a parking area for tourist buses.
