Tejas Express Travelling From Ahmedabad To Mumbai Suspends Operations

Covid-19 cases in India are rising at an alarming rate. With Maharashtra crossing a tally of 47,913 cases on Friday. India has re-entered the 90,000 cases-a-day range after five and a half months. And to curb the spread of the virus, authorities are doing everything they can. Now, IRCTC has suspended the services of the Ahemdabad-Mumbai Central-Ahemdabad Tejas Express train for a month.

Rise In The Covid-19 Cases Have Prompted The Authorities To Take This Step

The rise in the covid-19 cases is the main reason that has prompted the railway authorities to take this step. In a statement, IRCTC said,

“Temporary suspension of ADI-BCT-ADI Tejas Express due to recent Covid-19 rising cases. Keeping in view the rising cases and in the larger public interest, it has been decided to suspend the services of train no.82902/82901 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Tejas Express from April 2 for a period of one month.”

Pune Announces 12-Hours Night Curfew And More For A Week

In terms of operations, the railways’ authorities had resumed the service of Tejas Express four days a week from February 14 this year. And as per the reports from PTI, the railways may restore their train services to pre-Covid levels over the next two months. However, it will only be possible if the state governments give their nod and the coronavirus pandemic is under control.

For now, India is fighting a tough fight against the covid-19 pandemic as the cases are rising at an alarming rate. After witnessing a spike in the cases, Pune has implemented new measures to control the situation. All religious places, bars, theatres, malls and restaurants, starting today, will be shut for 7-days in Pune. And there’ll also be a 12-hour night curfew from 6 PM to 6 AM.

Well, we can only hope that the cases reduce with time, and things come back to normalcy soon.
