Construction for Mumbai’s second sea link will be started within a few months and is expected to run from Worli to Versova by 2023.
What Is It?
You will be able to travel from Worli to Versova in 15 minutes as the newest sea link in Mumbai will begin construction in a few months and will be ready by 2023. The second sea link will be 9.8 km as compared to the current 5.6 km Bandra – Worli sea link and with connectors, it will be nearly 18 km long.

What Do We Know?
The starting point will be near Otter’s Club in Bandra and head towards Juhu Koliwada, and end at Versova. The entire project will cost ₹6,994 crores and will come up within 60 months and constructed by a consortium of Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. The sea link will consist of 8 lanes and the toll will be around ₹130.

What Else?
The Bandra to Versova sea link is a part of the Western Freeway project which will be a series of sea links connecting Worli to Versova to Haji Ali to Girgaon. This project is now being combined with BMC’s Coastal Road project that aims to connect South Mumbai to the rest of Mumbai.
