These 6 Indian States Should Brace Themselves For Heavy Rainfall This Week

Heavy rainfall is most likely to affect a large part of India very soon. According to the latest weather bulletin of The India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall is likely to affect six Indian states this week. Gujarat, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Goa need to brace themselves for the hit. The bulletin also predicts isolated heavy rainfall and strong winds in the east and south Peninsular India during the next four to five days. Read on to know more details about the rainfall predictions on the Indian States by the IMD.

These Indian States To Suffer From Isolated Heavy Rainfall And Thunderstorm

The IMD predicts not just heavy rainfall but also thunderstorms over the eastern and western Indian states this week. The MeT Department reveals,
“Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls & thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, and Marathwada during 10th-12th; Vidarbha and Odisha during 10th-13th; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on 12th; Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand during 12th-14th; Bihar on 13th & 14th; Gujarat State, Madhya Maharashtra, and Konkan & Goa during next 5 days.”

Apart from this, the bulletin predicts heavy rainfall over Gangetic West Bengal most likely on September 13. Madhya Maharashtra is most likely to receive rainfall till September 14. Similar weather conditions will prevail over Konkan and Goa during the next five days. Meanwhile, extremely heavy rainfall is most likely to affect the Gujarat region from September 13 to 14.

Predictions Also Include Squally Winds Over Bay of Bengal

Following the heavy rainfall predictions on the Indian States, IMD also reveals that squally winds are most likely on the way. With a speed reaching 40-50 kmph, strong winds gusting to 60 kmph are most likely to prevail over the southwest and the west-central Bay of Bengal. The winds are also likely to affect North Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal coasts. IMD further reveals that sea conditions will get rough. This is most likely to happen over the northwest and the west-central Bay of Bengal. Rough sea conditions will also prevail along and off Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal coasts. The bulletin warns fishermen to stay away from the sea during this period.
