Air travel has made our life so easy. It is the fastest and the most convenient mode of transport that can take us to any country we wish to travel and explore. Oh, wait! Did I say any? No there are some countries which cannot be reached directly by sitting in an aircraft because of not having an airport. Here are the only 5 countries in the world that have no airports. 

1. Andorra

Situated right on the border of Spain and France, this European nation has one of the highest life expectancies in the world. The place is a pure paradise for adventurers and nature lovers. You can enjoy trekking and hiking in this country. This country has no airport of its own but has 5 airports which are approximately 3 hours away from it.

2. Monaco

Surrounded by the land of France on three sides and the Mediterranean sea on one, Monaco is the second smallest country in the world. You have to take a boat or car from  Nice Côte d’Azur Airport in France to reach Monaco. It hosts one of the oldest and most prestigious Formula One Races, the Monaco Grand Pix. 

3. San Marino

The fifth smallest country in the world, San Marino is surrounded by the Italian land but has no Airports. Being only 21 Km away from Federico Fellini International Airport, the country does not face inaccessibility. The country is one of the richest in the world with the highest GDP per capita.

4. Liechtenstein

Liechtenstein is a European country and is the smallest country in the world that borders Austria and Germany. The country has the lowest national debts but has no airport. The largest city in this country houses only 6000 residents. The country is 8 times smaller than Los Angeles.

5. Vatican City

Vatican City is an independent city-state within Rome and is spread across 109 acres only. This makes it the smallest country in the world and also the country with no airport. People generally fly down to Rome as it has two international airports and then drive to this little country.
