Virtual Tours Offered By NASA

NASA is coming out with a concept called NASA at Home -Virtual Tours and Apps. This allows people to wear a virtual headset to explore inside the virtual reality microgravity glovebox. Some of the other applications that NASA is launching are:

Commercial Crew Program 360-Degree VR Tour –This immersive program shares the story of innovation born out of government and industry partnership. This program helped launch astronauts to the International Space Station from U.S. soil.

“Go for Flight” – A Google Expeditions tour of NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center. This includes the view of an aircraft hangar, a control room and the back-ramp area where an aircraft’s final preparations for flight begin.

“Next Stop: The Stratosphere” – This program allows you to explore inside SOFIA, NASA’s flying observatory and a Boeing 747SP aircraft modified to carry a 106-inch telescope.

Hubble Space Telescope mission operations centre –– This program allows a person to take a 360-degree virtual tour of the Hubble Space Telescope’s home for mission operations, the Space Telescope Operations Control Center (STOCC) at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

NASA’s Exoplanet Excursions – This guided journey explores the amazing TRAPPIST-1 star system. This is known to be the home of 7 Earth-size exoplanets orbiting a star that is only a little larger than Jupiter.

International Space Station –– NASA astronaut Suni Williams takes people on an immersive guided tour of the International Space Station.
