Yes, the southern country in the African continent is where the majority of Indians are travelling to. At the thirtieth edition of the trade expo, this country was promoted as a tourist destination. But how did this happen? And why is it the most popular international travel abode for Indians?

After a strong post-COVID- recovery, South Africa became one of the top tourist destinations for Indian travellers. Moreover, they received almost fifty thousand tourists which was more than what they had aimed for. Also, South African Tourism with thirty-five eminent exhibitors has presented unique destination options to cater to their Indian audience. These include luxury experiences, wildlife, culinary, unusual activities, and other amazing opportunities.

The South African economy is dependent on its local businesses that offer a wide range of products. The annual trade expo has witnessed the strengthening of commercial relations and significant purchases between South Africa and India. Moreover, it has opened the doors to fruitful alliances for these countries.

Importance & Relations With India

For South Africa, India has become one of the largest foreign source markets. Moreover, the countries have maintained their thirty years of diplomatic relations. And to further strengthen it, the South African Tourism board arranged an event featuring the tourism opportunities of the African country at DLF Mall. They have also lined up roadshows from 13th to 16th February in main cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai.

Airlines like Qatar Airways, Emirates, Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines and Air Seychelles offer stopovers between South Africa and India. The African country is positive that India will continue to be one of the largest source markets with the wide range of activities the country has to offer.
