Known for launching talents like Sushant Singh Rajput, Vicky Kaushal, and Tripti Dimri, he shares stories from his casting journey. The food trail begins with a plate of Rajma Chawal at Shankar Market and moves to a beloved tea and pakoda stall behind Bangla Sahib Gurudwara. A stop at the National School of Drama brings back memories from his early days in theatre. Along the way, he reveals one of the most unusual places where he spotted an actor.
This Is The Actor Mukesh Chhabra Spotted In A Random Place
Mukesh Chhabra shares how he continues searching for the right actor until he is completely satisfied. He only stops when the person fits the character brief perfectly. When asked about the strangest place he has discovered an actor, he instantly replies, “Mujhe lagta hai, Hindustan mein har kone mein actor hain.”
Still, if he had to pick one, he fondly remembers a boy named Irfan whom he noticed in Lokhandwala. He laughs while recalling how, when he followed the child, the boy’s mother mistook him for a kidnapper. That same child went on to be cast in Chillar Party as “Fatka” and later won a National Award for his role. Irfan also acted in films like Kai Po Che and Shahid.

He Revealed How Much Casting Directors Get Paid
While discussing his profession, we were curious to learn how much casting directors earn in Bollywood. With humility, Mukesh Chhabra replies that they are paid well enough. Speaking honestly, he adds that he has been able to build a home and run a company that now employs 70–80 people. His humble attitude and devotion to work make him the top casting director of Bollywood.
