The village of Chikhalar near Betul in Madhya Pradesh has not recorded a single case of Covid to date. How? Well, the women of this village armed with sticks prevent the entry of outsiders into the village to keep the residents safe from coronavirus. This village is famous for the sale of raw liquor. But what’s put this village on the map are the women dressed in sarees and armed with sticks who ensure no one enters the village. The women sealed the boundaries of the village by placing a bamboo barricade next to a poster that prohibits the entry of outsiders. And that’s not all, the women also monitor everyone entering the state highway, passing close to the village.

The Women Use Sticks To Prevent Outsiders From Entering The Village
According to the women of this village, they took this tough decision to safeguard its people from the deadly virus. The women of Chikhalar have no qualms to wield the sticks against people who are aimlessly wandering in the village. The entry of any outsider or guest has been barred. The hard work and dedication of all these strong, brave women have definitely paid off as the Chikhalar village has not witnessed a single case of coronavirus.
