How many museums have you been to by far? What were they about? Cars, History related, Art museums, etc. How about visiting a museum dedicated to the brave Indian Air Force? Yes, Delhi is now home to a museum which is purely dedicated to our Indian Armed Forces. The museum is located at Delhi’s Palam Air Force Station. The museum beautifully shows the brave history of the Indian Air Force.
Indian Air Force Museum, Palam
The Indian Air Force Museum in Palam is a museum dedicated to the Indian Air Force. AVM Vikram Singh, who is an author of war books, a second generation test pilot and a historian, manages the museum. It is a special museum that preserves the history of the Indian Air Force through its collection of aircraft and armoury. If you are an aviation enthusiast, visiting this place is a must for you. A display gallery inside the museum’s entry showcases old pictures, artefacts, uniforms, and personal weaponry belonging to the Indian Air Force starting in 1932. Small aircraft and Air Force equipment, such as anti-aircraft weapons, trucks, and munitions, are displayed in a hangar.

Some Large Aircrafts Are Showcased On Air Force Day
The Indian Air Force Museum in Palam, has larger planes on display outside the hangar. Aircraft, a number of combat medals, radar technology, and captured enemy vehicles are all on show in this outdoor gallery. The Vintage Aircraft Flight repairs and keeps in airworthy condition a number of unusual aircraft. The general public does not typically have access to this aircraft. Due to a lack of room, large transport aircraft are kept on the airbase’s apron. Only on yearly Air Force Day, October 8, are these planes on display. There is a tiny gift shop inside the museum. Make a note that the museum is closed on government holidays.
